Technically speaking, Mac is a Pc. I would suggest you buy a windows based computer, though. Simply because; it can play more games, it has more programs and is way cheaper.

Mac for anything but gaming. There are VERY limited games for a mac, (I should know, i've only got a mac) but its absalutly amazing for editing, creative stuff and anything else you would want or need to do. I publish a whole magazine simply using the software the mac comes with.

For such purposes as these, no. Just no. Mac is a computer made for people who wants to edit things and create movies. It's a very simple machine, it's pretty Much a machine for people who don't want to bother with buying a custom pc for their edtinig needs. However, it is far too expensive to be worth it. /thread

Its not much more expensive than a fitted PC, it has a large amount of built in programs, built in camera, built in microphone and very, vey good virus protection. Not many viruses were made for macs because they are a bit more complicated. Thus the reason that we have less mac games

Let's not make this into a fanboy thread, though. I can see why people would buy a Macintosh. But in this case you'd be better of with a windows computer.
I'm using Linux atm. And i wouldn't recommend it for gaming at all.

Mac, hands frikkin down!
ones you buy a Mac... you don't ever go back PC viruses and software pirates got nothing on mac security
whatever cost increase you incur for the initial purchase.. you make up for it with the lifetime, reliability, and performance of the system.
not to mention the award winning customer service.
I bought a PC for world of warcraft that today cant even run MSoffice... PCs get slow and bogged down with updates and logs and backup files upon backup files... macintosh is organized better and doesnt have that issue.
my computer works as good as the day i bought it 4 years ago
after a few days of getting used to the new operating differences, theres nothing really to complain about... its a user friendly dream machine for all the mac haters out there... you dont know what you are missing

I could spend allot and fix all this but i dont think its worth it. ps. It probaly didnt help that the comp was hosting server for awile

Yeah, You shouldn't buy aMacintosh in general unless you need it for editing S***, really. And the whole virus thing is simply because osx isn't as popular as say windows. Install a decent antivirus on your windows based platform and virus shouldnt bother you.
Macintosh, not recomended in general unless you NEED it for say editing large movies and stuff.
I speak of course, from personal experience. Macs are generally not worth it.
